The Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology offers the following services:
The primary focus for CeMaST is to provide support to teams of researchers who come together to design and develop large-scale projects. The Center can help the group identify its mission, goals, and objectives; develop a plan of action; align the proposal with guidelines in the request for proposal (RFP); prepare a budget to support the plan; design the evaluation plan; and edit the final proposal. If the funding agency requires electronic submission, Center personnel have a great deal of experience and can be of assistance.
CeMaST personnel try their best to help faculty identify funding sources to support their research in mathematics, science, and technology education. To initiate this process, first describe the proposed project using the proposed outline. Then, contact the CeMaST director at 438-8627 to arrange for an appointment to discuss the idea. CeMaST personnel have been successful in obtaining funding from state and national agencies.
CeMaST personnel have considerable experience developing, field-testing and publishing theme-based integrated mathematics, science, and technology curricula. We have a thorough knowledge of how national standards for mathematics, science, and/or technology education can be used to guide the development process for curricula geared toward Pre-K through the PhD.
The processes of learning and teaching can always be improved. Whether through workshops or on-going professional development for mathematics, science, or technology education teachers, CeMaST can provide the organizational support and facilitate your professional development program.
CeMaST personnel can provide third-party evaluation services for projects that need formative and summative assessment services.
