Research shows that meeting with a program officer at the funding agency provides valuable information that can make a proposal competitive. For this reason, the CeMaST leadership team has earmarked some of the "indirects" received from current projects as travel dollars for faculty who can convince the CeMaST leadership team they have a fundable idea.
Complete a draft of an Overview of Proposed Project. This is a two-page description of your project.
Contact the CeMaST Director, by phone at (309) 438-3089 or fax at (309) 438-3592 and schedule a time to discuss your project.
Revise your two-page Overview of Project. Help the CeMaST leadership team match your project with a viable funding source. See the funding agencies monitored by CeMaST personnel. The CeMaST team will determine whether a proposed project has potential. If the decision is positive, CeMaST will help identify a program officer and you can make an appointment for a visit.
CeMaST may pay for travel expenses so that you can meet with the program officer. Requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Submit the Travel Award Application Form with your Overview of Proposed Project.
